It was one of the most dificult things I have ever done...to leave the side of Gary and the family and travel to Houston to share a special time with my sisters! I knew that God had known from the beginning, way back in January of 2009 that Paul's health would be failing at the same time! I am grateful for a husband and God who love me enough to release me for this time. I spent all day Wednesday with Paul and Ruthie before looking into his baby blues and telling him that I loved him and I would see him on Sunday.
I am the oldest of four sisters. Rhonda and I are two years apart. Robin is two years younger than Rhonda and Brigette is two years younger than Robin (we have a brother who is three years younger, but he was not allowed to come to the conference. Brigette and Robin reside in Morehead, KY where we all grew up. Rhonda lives in Anderson, Indiana. We have grown to be best friends and I am so very grateful!
Last January Beth Moore offered this opportunity to host at her home church, Houston's First Baptist Church a time set aside to be refreshed by memorizing God's Word together and then gathering and celebrating! Beth said that anyone who memorized two scriptures a month for the entire year would be invited to attend the conference for freeee!!!!!Brigette was excited and encouraged us to participate as well...and so, what's a good sister to do? We all three eagerly dove in! Since the interaction was on Beth's blog we really enjoyed it and seems tired now.
Rhonda and I were the first to fly into Houston and we purposely had chosen to arrive as early as possible and we did it! I left house at 5:00 and we have had a wonderful day! After we were all settled and checked into the hotell we headed for Galveston and the beach only 40 minutes southeast. The sky was an incredibly clear blue sky! and it was 78 degrees and promises more tomorrow!
Today was fun....
